SENT FROM HEAVEN...LOVELY LERATO

I remember my fellow Children's Church teacher, Nhlanhla Mabaso aka Ming, telling me that he is going shopping with his niece for her matric ball dress. He asked me which shops can he go to and I told him of one I knew but reminded him that making dress is also my trade and talent. They first went shopping and the following week he gave me a call to bring his niece through for dress measurements.

It was quite a wait and appointment reschedulings but Nhlanhla insisted to still bring her through. It was a late Sunday afternoon when I have already changed into my makoti (bride/daughter-in-law) garments knowing I am not seeing anyone anymore for the day. I was with my hubby at his parents' house. I tried explaining to Nhlanhla why I can't see him there but he was persistent and apologetic. Finally, they came. I met Lerato, his niece. A very sweet petite 17 year old little girl. She hoped I could make the dress for her. Well who would say no to such an angel-looking and well-mannered child?

MAKING THE DRESS

Lerato had sent me a picture of the dress she hoped for. I used it as an idea of what she would like and I made a peach draping dress with a silver chain detail and a silver sequined belt. I asked her to come try it on first because I was not sure if she would like it or would still insist on her initial choice. Nhlanhla brought her over with his whole family and other nieces. They were head over heels with the dress. Lerato was excited and loved it more. I was happy to get the reaction and feed back.

COMPLETING THE DRESS

I had to go buy the chain for the dress as the dress was just pinned on the mannequin when she first saw it. She then came and waited while I completed the dress so she can be able to fit it as I worked on it. The mannequin was about four sizes bigger than Lerato so she had to be her own life mannequin. She was such a pleasant and humble client-turned-visitor. The dress was then completed and she asked to pick it up the following day. She sent me the pictures of herself all dressed for the ball and wow!!! What an angel she resembled!

FOREVERFAITH COUTURE AT THE HORSE RACES

Posh! Oh My Gosh was this year's theme at the Durban July Horse Races. My clients did not want something Avant Garde or out of theordinary. They wanted garments they will surely wear again.

The two Flowers: Mbali (flower) and Florina (flower)

My friend Florina Moerane, whom I call Flawless Flo because of her flawless skin and character came with her friend Mbali Nkosi to have me design dresses for them. Flo gave me the liberty of choosing the design andcolour for her which made work easy for me. Mbali's dress was inspired by another dress she liked but it came out as a ForeverFaith Couture original as it was nowhere close to the other dress. The main thing she wanted was a one-sleeved dress.

Flo's dress was a deep orange peplum (posh) dress with an animal print flip under the peplum(Oh my gosh!) and Mbali's dress was a one-sleeved dress (Posh) made of a stretchy-ribbed gold-touched fabric that had a detacheable chiffon peplum and animal print belt (Oh my gosh!). The ladies really looked couturegeous in their ForeverFaith Couture orignals. Flo even told me she had  people take photos of her endlessly. All glory to God!

Flo's back of her dress was mostly admired and I bet she had one of the popular backs in Durban! The dress had buttons covered with the animal print fabric (Posh! Oh my Gosh!)

Well since some of my clients never send me pictures as they promised, I took the dress to Flo for fitting and had a couple of snapshots of her the day before the event.

Flawless is she not?

FREESTATE FREESTYLE FASHION WITH FOREVERFAITH COUTURE

When Nomsa Ntshingila called me to make an appointment for me to design her traditional seshoeshoe dress I first went to her Facebook profile in order to have an idea of who I will be meeting. I was avoiding the embarassment of realizing she is someone I have met face to face before since we go to the same church. Now because Facebook does not give you an individual's details like height, I was wowwed by this tall lanky model-height lady who walked in with her friend who is almost as short as me.I must admit, I have dressed people taller than me but not as tall as Nomsa. I even asked her if she was a model and learned she was before and prior modelling she was a basketball player.

Ok, why this whole biography on this lady? Well besides her height I was amazed by her optimistimistic excitement in coming to ForeverFaith Couture to get her dress designed by me. With the help of God obviously as I can only do things through Christ. She spoke so well about my work she has seen. There is nothing as inspiring and motivating as a client having trust in my work. It makes designing, cutting and sewing for her easy.

Nomsa wanted a peplum dress in Seshoeshoe (Sesotho traditional fabric) for a family event all the way in the Free State. I mean my garments travel far and more than I do in a period of just a month. How great is our God putting me on the world stage in His own devine way?

Nomsa said in her own words: " I have never had a dress fit me so good, God bless you Faith." For me, that is an amen and Glory unto the Lord! Thank you Nomsa for letting ForeverFaith Couture dress you.

AFRICAN PRINCESS DISCOVERED BY FOREVERFAITH COUTURE

I have grown to know that you do not really know a person until you get to dress them or rather have them in your closest circles of acquintances or friends.

How I run my business is that I prefer building lifetime relationships than just necessarily having once off high priced sales of my products and services.

Well, here's the story of an an African Princess I have gotten an opportunity to know and dress. Her name is Nyiko Khoza. a beautiful Nubian Princess who goes by many African icons' names on her BBM (Blackberry messenger) and Miz Coza on Facebook (Ai sorry if I blew your cover). Why I call her an African or Nubian Princess? Well apart from her beautiful chocolate skin and dreadlocks this one proudly South African woman. However what makes her African is her values and character she upholds. I got to know her mother before I even met her because Nyiko had already represented her in her good manners and people-oriented character.

Check out Nyiko's blog: www.nyikospeaks.blogspot.com

Nyiko is so polite and the most happy client I have ever met. Well I am blessed with clients who are always happy and satisfied. It is just that I was astounded by when she placed an order for the first time she ordered 3 African-inspired dresses all at once and got excited with everyone of them. Just a month later she brought her mom as a new ForeverFaith Couture client and her mom was exactly as I imagined her (as friendly and full of love like Nyiko). .

By the way, Nyiko and I serve in the same ministry as teachers at our churh which is Children's Church Ministry. I first met her when I was a visiting her class. She was the first to arrive at my Pre-Marriage Ladies Bring and Share Gathering (way better than a bridal shower) and she was the funniest of them all.

See below Nyiko's dresses she ordered for The African Day on one of her out in Africa visits and work.

Because my childhood dream was to be a model and be featured in magazines, I have a tendency to try on the clients' dresses that fit me and pose for the cameraman (my hubby) who never gets tired of snapping at me, I got into Nyiko's beatiful dresses as well....*hides*

Wondering where is the third dress? Well Nyiko has not sent me her picture wearing it so I can't post my picture in it. I must say those dresses looked good on her. I appreciate her trusting me to dress her. As you should know by now, ForeverFaith Couture dresses are "Designed To Fit You".

BLESSED BLISSFUL BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM...BRIDESMAIDS AND GROOMSMEN'S OUTFITS BY FOREVERFAITH COUTURE

If it was not for my dependence on the Lord I would not have managed to make my bridesmaids and groomsmen's outfits. I meant to make myself a white cocktail bridal dress and make my husband white Irish Linen pants for him to wear with the Irish linen shirt I made and he wore. Time was just beyond me so I wore my wedding gown and he wore his wedding suit.

The bridesmaids looked angelic and beautiful in their dresses which I designed to suit their personalities while the groomsmen looked handsome in white Irish Linen shirts and beige Irish Linen pants worn with takkies to suit our Carribean Cocktail Ekasi Wedding Theme.
Oh the ever so sweet flower girls looked so adorable in their matching Flowergirls' dresses

The gentle groomsmen in their relaxed Irish linen outfits and my handsome groom matching them in a white Irish Linen shirt with a cream white suit.
